The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Expected to arrive in autumn 2007, the 2008 Grand Cherokee's five-engine lineup now includes the new 4.7-liter V-8, getting twin spark plugs per cylinder and a higher compression ratio. This will boost its horsepower by 24 percent i.e. up to 291 hp. Torque is up by six percent which means going up to 322 pound-feet. The good thing about the updated V-8' engine is that it is now flex-fuel capable, and will have better fuel economy.
The other engines in the line include:
The new 3.0-liter diesel
The 3.7-liter V-6;
The 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI; and
The 6.1-liter HEMI found in the SRT8.
One of the most exciting innovations found on the new Grand Cherokee is the Sirius satellite TV, which will be offering three additional channels for children. Overall channels of programming will include Nickelodeon, the Disney Channel, and the Cartoon Network. Second- and third-row passengers will be able to watch Sirius programming on the go, while front-seat passengers will be able to view them while the vehicle is in Park via a console screen.
Other features on the 2008 Grand Cherokee are:
High-intensity discharge headlamps
A rearview camera
The backup warning system
A MP3 player input jack, and
18-inch chrome wheels.
Outside Features include:
Circular shaped headlamps on the nose.
The stretched grille, and
Lower fog lamps.
Also off-road fans will appreciate the removable lower front spoiler. A new tilt-telescoping wheel, and more metallic trim add a remarkably soft-touch trim to the cabin.
