The UK Mazda enthusiasts have a reason to celebrate the owning of Mazda's two special editions of sports cars - the MX-5 and the RX-8. (Special Edition: MX-5 Z-sport, RX-8 Kuro / Tags: Mazda-miata, mx-5, Mazda rx-8)
MX-5
The Mazda MX-5 2.0i Z-Sport features special Radiant Ebony Mica paint, 17-inch BBS wheels, a chrome front grille surround, various other exterior chrome trim, and ZSport badges to distinguish the special-edition car from the standard variant. The interior is spruced-up with a brushed aluminum dash panel; alloy pedals, chrome air vent trim, and climate control air conditioning. There will be 400 examples available for £19,995 each, or £1,045 more than the regular MX-5 2.0i Sport.
RX-8
Elegant as the MX-5 ZSport may appeal; the rotary fans will likely opt for the 228 horsepower Mazda RX-8 Kuro Limited Edition. 'Kuro' means 'black' in Japanese, so the RX-8 Kuro is appropriately given Sparkling Black Mica paint to offset its silver 18-inch wheels. The same Stone-colored leather that graces the MX-5 ZSport is used, but the Kuro RX-8 goes a step further by covering the steering wheel, gear knob, and handbrake lever with the dark-colored hide. All this surprisingly costs £550 less than the standard RX-8. Just at £23,995. Mazda has chosen to produce 500 RX-8s with the Kuro Limited Edition package, numbered individually on its doorsill with a badge letting people identify which one they are viewing.
