Watch out Toyota, Nissan, Ford, and Isuzu — it's the Hummer H3T bakkie arriving in the US during the third quarter of 2008.Although GM released no specifics on the "pickup truck", the company previously revealed images of the 2003 HCT Concept, although recent spy shots have suggested the production version will come in a four-door double-cab configuration. It is expected to get the same 3.7-litre and 5.3-litre V8 currently doing service in the Hummer range. Also no word on whether the bakkie, to be positioned between the current mid- and full-size Hummer vehicles, will be produced in South Africa alongside the H3. Instead GM will be investing $73-million into their assembly plant in Shreveport, Louisiana which is where the new brute will be built for the US market."Larger than a midsize truck, smaller than a full-size, the H3T delivers attitude, versatility and capability," reckons GM."And more important, with a fully functional truck bed and one of the industry's broadest range of personalisation accessories, the H3T provides a new level of lifestyle functionality to the Hummer portfolio."
