Maruti Suzuki India's closest competitor Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) is all set to launch an Alto-beater – well, almost. Codenamed HA, Hyundai has been readying an Alto rival for almost five years now at its Namyang Research and Development Centre in South Korea as well as at its Indian R&D centre in Hyderabad.
And not just the Alto (which leads sales in the compact segment with a price tag of up to R3 lakh), HA – which is being launched in India as the Hyundai Eon – is going to target the compact midsize segment (R3-4 lakh) and the sub-R3 lakh segment (Nano) too.
