The Lexus SC 430, essentially a silky smooth sports car, has switched from luxury coupe to open roadster. Just drop the power hardtop and it converts into an enjoyable open roadster. Looking bolder and brighter for 2006, the Lexus SC 430 performs well and boasts true sports car credentials: rear-wheel drive, a fully independent suspension, and a powerful V8 engine. It's stable at high speeds and offers excellent control on winding roads. With a relatively soft suspension, and smooth responsive performance, especially in stop-and-go traffic, it's easy to live with around town. But it’s all the same delightful on country roads.
Driving Features:
As a sport car The Lexus SC 430 outperforms its rival, Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet. The Lexus SC 430 simply floats and wallows on winding, bumpy roads, thanks to its soft suspension,. Taking a tight corner with SC 430 going high, it under-steers (the front tires losing grip before the rear tires). Its rear-wheel drive is the proper layout for a performance car, giving it handling balance and responsiveness that no front-wheel-drive car can match. But the SC 430 is not intended to be driven like a racecar because, after all, Lexus has been designed especially to excel in the areas of comfort and refinement.
