Toyota will suspend manufacturing at most of its factories in North America for several days this month due to parts shortages caused by the earthquake in Japan. The Japanese auto giant said Saturday that most of its 14 North American factories will shut down for five days between April 15 and 25. It will be the first time the automaker has suspended normal-hour production on weekdays. Meanwhile, the company also announced it will resume production at all of its auto plants in Japan at half capacity from April 18. Toyota was forced to stop work at its Japanese facilities following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
